Demolition Awards deadline extended…



The closing date for entries for the Demolition Awards, organised by D&Ri and supported by the EDA, has been extended to 31 July, 2009.

If you work in the demolition industry then you can enter a number of different categories and it is free to do so.

According to Demolition News:

The Innovation Award, open to manufacturers and equipment suppliers has also been modified to now offer two awards – one for series-produced products aimed at a mass market and a second for custom-produced products developed in response to specific individual customers’ requests.

The winners will be announced on November 6th in Amsterdam as part of the Demolition Summit.

City Demolition win safety award for 2nd year running

A R Demolition awarded Certificate of Commitment



C&D Consultancy are happy to pass on news that A R Demolition have been awarded a Certificate of Commitment from the Construction Skills Certification Scheme.

Through that scheme the construction industry can help to ensure quality and reduce accidents and it is something being requested more and more by contractors.

New Quick Switch system could save lives

Demolition News is backing a new quick hitch safety pin warning device from Quick Switch that has been developed specifically to address the issue of accidents caused by buckets and other attachments becoming unexpectedly detached from their carrier machine due to the failure or misuse of what is commonly known as a semi-automatic quick coupler.

Mark Anthony of Demolition News said:

When I see a product that could potentially save lives and remove a huge amount of confusion from an industry that remains puzzled over the use of semi-automatic quick hitches, I have no hesitation in backing it 100%. (Interestingly, my endorsement is shared by someone with a far greater knowledge of the subject, NFDC chief executive Howard Button).
