A Festive Thank You

Here at C&D we need to say sorry to all of our customers as this year there will be no M&Ms, wine, beer, or gifts of any kind as we thought you will probably get a lot of those things anyway, so instead and on your behalf, we have made donations to a London Homeless Charity, the IDE President nominated charity, a number of local small Justgiving requests, and to Bark Inn Kennels.

Thank you for being great customers from us, and thank you for being great people from the charities concerned.

IDE President shares a seasonal greeting

IDE President David Darsey has written a seasonal greeting we thought was worth sharing:

With 2016 drawing to a close I would like to take this opportunity to thank you, the members, for your continued support of the Institute over the last twelve months.

We have seen many new members join us this year and attendance at all IDE events, Seminars, Regional Meetings, Annual Luncheon - to name but a few - have exceeded all of our expectations. The IDE 40th Anniversary celebrations in July at the Science Museum was an amazing success and the feedback extremely positive during the whole evening.

The IDE continues to grow from strength to strength and exciting times are ahead for the us in 2017, especially with the introduction of the new Demolition Degree that will be the first of its kind for the industry.

Personally I am looking forward to the next two years as your President and would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your families a Merry Christmas and a Very Prosperous New Year.

Is a "no cards Christmas" the way to go?

This year, as in the previous 10 years, C&D Consultancy will not be sending Christmas cards to customers and friends to wish them seasonal greetings, instead we will be making a charity donation equivalent to the cost of the cards and stamps to our charity of the year.

This year that donation has been made to Bark Inn Kennels after the kennel walk on Sunday.

I know many people love a house full of cards at this time of year, but we feel that the money we would have spent, this year £100, can be more useful to a charity hence our decision.

As more and more people use social media to send Christmas messages and share videos of themselves as dancing elves, perhaps you could do the same this year or next and help a charity close to your heart instead.

C&D Consultancy over Christmas and New Year

All of the team at C&D Consultancy would like to thank our customers for their business in 2012 and to wish them, and all of the demolition industry, a very Happy Christmas and an extremely prosperous New Year.

As in previous years we have chosen to donate to a local charity rather than send Christmas cards and this year we have donated to a local shelter for the homeless to help provide warm clothing, food, and a room from time to time for those who are forced to sleep rough.

We thank our website advertisers for 2012, Northerntrack and ECY Haulmark, and hope that they will continue to support the website in 2013 and everyone who has contributed news items to the site this year.

2013 will see some changes to C&D presence on the web as we launch a new website in January www.demolitiontraining.com where you will find all of the training courses that we offer, details of training from other providers who have training that complements our own courses, and free to download video toolbox talks that will assist your supervisors in providing a variety of toolbox talks throughout the year.

The office will be closed from 3.00pm on Friday 21 December and will reopen at 7.00am on Monday 07 January 2013. If you require training between those dates please do not hesitate to contact John direct on 07870 404906 or at john.woodward@demolishdismantle.co.uk as he, and other members of the team, will be available if required.

C&D decide to have a "No cards" Christamas again this year

We would like to wish all of our customers and readers a Happy Christmas this year through the website, as we have done in the past, rather than sending Christmas cards as we prefer to donate the costs of the cards and postage to a local charity.

This sum of money, though relatively small to the demolition industry, makes a great contribution to the running costs of a small charity who do not have national funding opportunities.

Details of the donation and the charity will be announced just before we close for Christmas.

Waste Management Christmas Luncheon announced

The Chartered Institution of Wastes Management Midlands Centre Annual Christmas Luncheon has been announced. It will take place on Friday, 14th December at the Malmaison Hotel located in The Mailbox in Birmingham.

The luncheon starts with a reception at 11:30 followed by a three course lunch, wine, and coffee at 12:30. There will also be a return of the Young and Strange magic act, which was very popular last year.
