Demolition Consultancy orders continue to arrive at C&D
In previous years it has been noted that orders tend to drop off as we come into the Autumn period, but this year for some reason, we are reversing the trend with another two demolition consultancy orders landing on the mat last Saturday.
The contracts, whose clients cannot be named at this time, will see C&D advise on the decommissioning and demolition of major industrial complexes in the Manchester region from now until November 2014.
These orders will help with the controlled expansion of C&D that will see an increase in turnover again this year of around 10%.
If you are currently considering demolition of any type why not contact John at john.woodward@demolishdismantle.co.uk for a consultation to see how you could save money on your project whilst the work is done on time, safely and to budget.

How demolition used to be done
At the rate the world progresses, technology updates, and buildings disappear, it's easy to forget how demolition used to be done. Thankfully with the advent of online video through services like YouTube, we can see how it used to be done.
The video above is a home movie of Dukinfield near Manchester which was being demolished "in the name of regenration". This was filmed somewhere between the end of the 60s and beginning of the 70s.

IDE Manchester Roadshow is a great success

The IDE Manchester Roadshow was hailed as a great success by all of those present on Friday.
Thirty six delegates listened to presentations from John Campbell, Margaret Pears, Phil Jones, Terry Quarmby and John Woodward on a number of subjects that are of concern to demolition engineers today.
Those delegates who stayed overnight before the event enjoyed drinks outside in the warm weather in Manchester and the opportunity to enjoy the sights of the city and the excellent variety of food on offer.
The IDE return to Manchester in Spring 2010 for a major seminar and we suggest, if finances permit, that you try to both attend the seminar and enjoy a weekend in a vibrant interesting city.

IDE Roadshow reaches Manchester 3rd July

Following on from the IDE Roadshow in Bristol earlier this month the Roadshow reaches Manchester this Friday. If you are unsure what the Roadshow entails here's the description from the IDE website:
An IDE Roadshow comprises a series of seminars where the content is repeated. The seminars take place in different locations around the Bristish Isles.
With the smaller numbers present (around 40), the very positive feedback indicates that participants appreciate the informality of these seminars and the greater opportunity to take part in discussion.
Presentations in Bristol included:
* Biodiversity Surveys
* Control of Noise – John Campbell. (Campbell Associates).
* DPCS/CPCS card update
* EA view on plasterboard disposal
* Redundancy Law - Margaret Pears.
* Sustainability & Demolition – Terry Quarmby.
* New plant technology.
* HSE Campaigns 2009-2010. CDM, HSE wish list, did it come true?
If you would like to attend visit the IDE website and fill out the Booking Form.
