Please note that the IDE Regional Meeting and Peaky Blinders Tour scheduled for tomorrow evening at the Old Crown, Digbeth has been CANCELLED owing to the current weather conditions and the local forecast of -10 degrees overnight tonight and into tomorrow.
As the tour is a walking tour of back alleys and streets of Digbeth there is a risk of ice underfoot on uncleared footpaths and that risk cannot be eliminated.
The event will be rearranged for 2018.

IDE Midlands Regional Meeting on August 15th
The IDE has organised a Midlands Regional Meeting for Tuesday, 15th August between 5pm and 7pm.
The meeting is sponsored by DSM Demolition Ltd. and takes place in The Oak Hotel, Stratford Road, Hockley heath B94 5NW. You'll find it on the A34.
At 5pm there will be refreshments and some time to network. Then there will be talks by safety consultant Steve Tamplin on Scaffolding Awareness, and Ricky Hay FRICS, the NFDC Scotland & Ireland Regional Chairman on the demolition of the St. James Quarter in Edinburgh. A video will also be available to watch showing a delayed timelapse of the Tottenham Hotspurs Ground demolition.

On Tuesday, August 15th, an IDE Midlands Regional Meeting will be held in The Oak Hotel on Stratford Road in Hockley Heath.
The event is sponsored by DSM Demolition and kicks off at 5pm with registration and networking accompanied by refreshments and a buffet.
After that there will be a couple of speakers including safety consultant Steve Tamplin talking about scaffolding awareness. Then there's Ricky Hay FRICS, regional chairman of the NFDC for Scotland & ireland. He'll be talking about the demolition of the St. James Quarter in Edinburgh.
Attendees will also be able to watch a time delay video on the demolition of the Tottenham Hotspurs Ground at White Hart Lane in London. It's a work in progress by sponsors DSM Demolition.

Scottish Regional Meeting being held May 11th
The next Scottish Regional Meeting is happening on May 11th at the following location:

Speakers include: Jim Caldwell Snr F.I.D.E. and Shona Farrell with the meeting focussing primarily on health surveillance following the inclusion of this as mandatory within the NFDC Site Audit Scheme.
The format for the morning will take the form of a workshop with Jim Caldwell Snr taking the lead, initiating debate with the demolition engineers who attend on health surveillance within the demolition industry and the requirements thereof.

The IDE is holding a free Scroltand Regional Meeting on May 20th, with both IDE members and non-members welcome.
The meeting is worth 3 hours CPD and will be held and hosted by Reigart Contracts Ltd. located at Drumcavel Quarry, Drumcavel Road, G69 9EP.
