Watch the old Bermondsey railway viaducts get demolished (video)
Network Rail decided to film the demolition of the old railway viaducts at Bermondsey, with the work being carried out by C&D customer Armac Group. The video above shows the work as it happened in timelapse form.
Once fully removed, the viaducts are being replaced with a dive under, which will allow many more Charring Cross trains to pass beneath Thameslink services, appearing on the other side and then having a clear run into the centre of London. The project is meant to be completed in 2017.
