John Woodward








John deals with the following areas of the business:

Les Hemmings



From January 2011 Les has worked for C&D Consultancy on a freelance basis as he has started his own demolition company, Clarke Demolition Mansfield Limited, specialising in soft strip works.

When Les is available to assist C&D he deals with the following:
  • Producing Health and Safety Plans.
  • Producing Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
  • Structural calculations and reports.
  • Dilapidations Surveys.
  • Surveys for costing demolition works.
  • Site management.
  • Project management.
  • Planning of explosive demolitions.
  • Local authority permissions for demolitions.
  • Programming of demolition works.
  • Assisting in presentations.
Les started working in the construction industry as a structural technician attending college and later university, graduating up to resident engineer status, and has worked for most of the major structural engineering practices, also working for major blue chip companies as their senior project manager in building and structural engineering departments.

He has moved on in the last 15 years to demolition and has worked for a number of demolition companies around the Midlands area. He started working for us in July 2008 and has had experience in most elements of demolition practices and has undertaken site management through to presentations.

In January 2010 Les became a full member of the Association of Project Safety and can act as a CDM Co-ordinator.


Vernon Watson







Vernon is a Fellow of the IDE and deals with the following areas of business:
  • Site Safety Audits

  • Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality systems/procedures – this includes generation and implementation of management systems in accordance with requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 & Investors in People [IIP])

  • CDM Co-ordinator duties, including advising Client, selection of contractors.

  • Producing Health & Safety Plans

  • Producing Safe Systems of Work (SSW’s) – Method Statements, Risk, COSHH, Manual Handling Assessments, etc.

  • Investigation of accidents, dangerous occurrences and/or near misses

  • Company safety, health and environmental status reports

  • Completion of Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQ’s)

  • Waste management systems, including Site Waste Management Plans
Vernon has been involved in the construction/process industries for over 25 years and with the demolition and asbestos removal industry for 20 years.

He is a ‘hands on’ person, having worked for many years as Safety Manager/Director for a major demolition contractor.

Specialising in implementation of ‘user friendly’ management systems, Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality, he brings a wealth of experience/expertise to address key requirements for Clients.

He has served as an elected member of the Governing Council of the Asbestos Removal Contractors Association (ARCA) and also a member of the ARCA Technical Committee. In these roles he was actively engaged in promoting good working practices within the industry, liaising with the Health and Safety Executive and generating strict control regimes to benefit Clients requiring asbestos removal services.

In addition, Vernon, as a representative of the NFDC, is a member of the Constructionskills sub-committee working on the preparation of touch screen test questions and the administration of the touch screen tests.

Craig Wilkinson

Craig Wilkinson has worked for C&D Consultancy since 2009 and specialises in the following aspects of the C&D workload:-
  • Producing Health and Safety Plans.
  • Producing Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
  • Site audits.
  • Accident and incident investigation.
  • Local authority permissions for demolitions.
  • Programming of demolition works.
  • PAT testing of appliances.
  • Training of operatives.
Craig holds a NEBOSH National Construction Certificate and is a full First Aider.


Matthew Bardgett


Matthew Bardgett has joined C&D Consultancy to assist in the Liverpool and London offices and work alongside Mike Kehoe after having spent 12 months working for the company part-time alongside studying at Liverpool John Moores University.


Matthew Humphries


While the rest of the team focus on providing a top notch demolition consulting and training experience, Matthew keeps the website up and running while catering for the more technical needs of the team.

He's most at home in an air conditioned room filled with the hum of computers happy to do his bidding. Trained to Masters degree level in computer science, software engineering, and in particular the development of video games, Matthew also specializes in producing websites for small businesses who want a presence on the web without any of the large costs many companies seem to push on their customers. C&D Consultancy is just one example of these low cost, high quality content websites and it has proudly been online 99.9% of the time since 2008.
