John Woodward, consultant to the movie stars

Our own John Woodward has branched out recently to consulting not only on demolition work, but the depiction of demolition workers in a new play being shown in London.
Entitled Parlour Song the play has Toby Jones, from the Oscar-nominated Frost Nixon movie, playing a demolition man. John was called in to consult on pre-production and help Toby understand the role of a real demolition man.
According to Mark Anthony over at Demolition News it was worth it. Having seen the play he commented that the script, set, and performance were all superb. John was also mentioned in the production and was welcomed with open arms by Toby after the show last week.
John is now awaiting the call from Sylvester Stallone regarding production of the movie Demolition Man 2.
J Bryan (Victoria) Ltd celebrates 49th birthday with blowdown
Only in the demolition industry can you celebrate a birthday by blowing something up. And that's exactly what one of our customers, J Bryan (Victoria) Ltd, did with the chimney at The Hanson Castle Cement Plant in Clitheroe, Lancashire.
The stack was dropped into a confined area defined by buildings and live plant, and only minor damage to two cladding sheets was reported. The demolitions generated around 400 tons of asbestos for landfill, 11,000 tons of scrap metal and 5,000 tons of concrete for recycling.
