Alaska's tallest structure demolished
Alaska has just seen its tallest structured demolished due to concerns over safety.
The Long Range Aids to Navigation tower at the Coast Guard LORAN Station 30 miles north of Anchorage was in a state of high deterioration. It either needed repairing or bringing down. With no funding available for repairs the only option was some well placed explosives and a collapse.
The tower stood at 808 feet.
