Diners get a shock as exterior restaurant wall collapses

Diners at Sushi Tatami located at Yonge Street on Gould, Toronto, got a bit of a shock on Friday afternoon.

As they were sitting down for an early afternoon meal the wall outside, and above the restaurant entrance, started to collapse. You can see the extent of the damage in the image above.

Thankfully, no one was hurt in the collapse, but the authorities called in search dogs to be sure, and the Toronto Fire Service were in attendance.

The cause of the collapse is thought to be linked to renovations that were currently underway to the front of the building. It's unclear whether the building can now be made safe, or will require some further demolition.
