The Swindon College building at Regent Circus is being demolished to make way for a 60,000 sq ft Morrisons supermarket along with space for 450 cars, 8 restaurants, a 30,000 sq ft cinema complex, and a number of bars. It's meant to be completed by 2014 and will surely rejuvinate the location.
Demolition of the existing college building and clearance of the 5 acre site was meant to start before the end of the year, but that now isn't going to happen. Ashfield Land owns the site and has admitted to being frustrated when people say progress isn't being made on the new complex. Apparently, even though demolition has yet to commence, funding is in place and much work is being done behind the scenes towards developing the site.

We're hoping that when demolition does finally commence we get to see some video footage of the work posted.
