December 3rd marks the end of cash for scrap metal

Below is a notice sent out by the NFDC and reprinted here with permission:

From 3rd December 2012 you can no longer pay cash for scrap metal.

It is an offence for anyone to buy scrap metal for cash or by any form of payment other than a crossed cheque or electronic money transfer under the Scrap Metal Dealers Act, amended by Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012.

Please discuss these forms of payment with your scrap metal handler.
