Ditherington Flax Mill in Shrewsbury has a very complicated Silo demolition underway
English Heritage owns the Ditherington Flax Mill in Shrewsbury, and it was awarded a £12.8 million lottery grant back in 2013 along with £6.6 million in European funding to convert the site into office space and an exhibition center. But before that can happen a 1950s silo needs to be demolished, and it's not going to be easy.
The 1797 Grade-1 listed mill has entered its first phase of redevelopment now, but the silo demolition is set to take until January to finish. Once down, development should hopefully speed up considerably.
