Two cranes collapse into buildings attempting to move section of bridge
As the video above shows, there's been a serious accident involving two cranes in the Dutch town of Alphen aan den Rijn.
The two cranes were attempting to lift and move the central steel section of the Juliana Bridge when the weight became too much for the machines to handle. The section of bridge and crane arms fell across two shops causing serious structural damage as well as injuring at least 20 people. The severity of the injuries is currently not known, but a team of rescue experts who usually attend earthquakes and similar disasters were called in to help. Heavy machinery is also being brought in to help remove the cranes and bridge section.
We hope everyone involved in the accident is OK and that the only serious injury was to the buildings.
