Family business Humphries Demolition has been sold


C&D Consultancy have been the health and safety advisors to Humphries Demolition for over 10 years and in that time we have got to know owner David Humphries extremely well. So we are delighted to report that David's plan for retirement takes a step forward with the sale of Humphries Demolition to the existing management team.

The management buyout sees David remaining as an advisor to the company until April 2015 and the ownership passing to the new owners immediately.

New Power from Waste Plant for Wednesbury

The Wolverhampton Express and Star reported on 30.08.2012 that Wednesbury is in line for a new Power-from-Waste plant that will cost in the region of £1 million.

Intervate from Cradley Heath want to take over the former Hughes & Sons building in Portway Road to create a waste food and wood processing centre which would turn the waste into gas to create energy that would be fed into the local grid.

C&D customer David Humphries, who is acting as agent for Intervate said:

Early discussions for the scheme with planning chiefs at Sandwell Council have been positive. The plant will generate electricity for the next 20 years and will deal with items of waste that would normally go to landfill to generate that power. It is making something out of nothing and I think it is an amazing process.

David also said that Intervate want to bring in the specialist equipment to recycle timber from local organisations and authorities which is shredded and put into specialist machinery under enormous pressure, That in turn creates syngas to be run through converted diesel generators to create the electricity.
