Kansas City Troost Avenue building implosion

Yesterday you got to see a viaduct being imploded in eastern China. Today, it's a multi-storey building in Kansas, located on 6700 Troost Avenue.

The building was demolished using a controlled implosion carried out by demolition firm Dykon Explosive Demolition. The last time we covered Dykon they were working with Dick Green to implode the Rydges Hotel in Doha, Qatar.

The area will now be cleared and redeveloped to include new housing and small businesses.

Implosion of Rydges Hotel in Doha, Qatar

The video above shows the implosion of the Rydges Hotel in Doha, Qatar. The demolition involved our good friend Dick Green of Independent Explosives Engineers Ltd. We also featured Dick on the site in November last year covering his article in Construction Magazine.

The actual implosion was carried out by Dykon Explosive Demolition Corp.
