Watch a Macy's Store imploded in Houston, Texas

On September 22nd, the Macy's Building in Downtown Houston, Texas was imploded. You can see the real-time and slow motion footage above. The building had been standing since 1947 and was originally opened as a Foley's department store.

Wooden Colorado River rail road bridge collapses due to fire

The video above shows a wooden rail road bridge that runs over the Colorado River in Lampass County, Texas. It looks as though it was deliberately set on fire, and it soon spread. Firefighters were on the scene for 15 hours, but they couldn't prevent it from collasping. And to be honest, it would have probably had to be demolished anyway due to the fire damage.

It's always enjoyable to watch an implosion video. But typically they are run at normal speed or in standard slow motion. If you're lucky you get multiple angles to view it from.

The Marble Falls bridge demolition is different, though. As the video above shows, they recorded it in super slow motion, offering a whole new take on how an implosion happens.

Plaza Hotel implosion videos

On May 24th, the Plaza Hotel located on the corner of University and Texas Avenue in College Station, Texas, was imploded. The building was erected in the early 80's and stood 17 storeys tall.

Texas woman loses home as crew demolish wrong house

What would you do if you returned home to find your house being demolished? That's what 69-year-old Francis Howard was presented with on April 21st.

Her home in Texas has been partially demolished by accident as the crew selected the wrong house on her street. Francis managed to stop the complete destruction, but she has lost the porch and whole front of the house making it unsafe to live in.

How did the demolition crew get it so wrong? They just chose the wrong side of the road to work on. Francis lives at 724 Ruddell Street, the house up for demolition was number 721.

When asked how she felt Francis simply said:

"I don’t have the words to say. I just want this house put back together. I think I need a lawyer."

Although there was a demand on her house to have it repaired or demolsihed that doesn't excuse demolishing it without consent. It is expected Francis will either receive a cash payment or alternative living arrangement. But for the time being she is looking for somewhere to live.
