Controlled explosion takes down 5 buildings at Kingsnorth Power Station

The video you see above is the implosion of 5 buildings located at the old Kingsnorth Power Station. The site was closed in March 2013 due to not reaching EU standards on pollution. Since then, demolition has been planned and scheduled, with the implosion above happening on October 23rd.

5 cooling towers at High Marnham imploded

The High Marnham power station located in Nottinghamshire no longer has cooling towers as part of the skyline. The remaining 5 were imploded last weekend, and a number of cameras were on hand to capture them falling.

The rubble created by 5 cooling towers is going to take months to clear up, but site owner E.ON said it was imperative to remove them as they were on the brink of becoming unsafe.

The once coal-fired power station will now be redeveloped as a gas-fired station instead, which should please those concerned about the environment and the pollution coal causes.
