How To Deliver Effective Toolbox Talks

Introduction

Health and safety training covers varius areas and is often delivered by means of tool box talks. These are short 5 or 10 minute talks on a specific health and safety topic.

The course assists presenters in delivering an effective tool box talk and demonstrate how to prepare for a tool box session. There will be practical training and practice sessions which will help delegates gain some experience on what is required of them when speaking to a group.


Aims

The aim of the course is to gain an understanding of the skills required to deliver an effective tool box talk and to facilitate effective communication with the workforce. The course is aimed at Managers or Supervisors to develop positive and effective tool box talks to their staff/team in an assertive manner.


The Course includes:

* Basic skills and abilities necessary to present a Tool Box Talk
* The preparation and development of a Tool Box Talk
* What points should be addressed in a Tool Box Talk
* Deliver an effective Tool Box Talk to the course delegates (10-15 minute presentation)
* How to record Tool Box Talks
* Tutorials, practical exercises, review and assessment of Tool Box Talk presentation.

Delegates will be issued with a Certificate of Attendance.
