Introduction
The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 places a legal accountability on employers, employees and self-employed persons to comply with the provisions of the regulations and to take reasonable and practical steps to ensure that no danger results from the use of electrical equipment. This requires a regular program of maintenance, inspection and testing.
Aims
Employees or managers wishing to become an appointed person for Portable Appliance (PAT) Testing within organisations utilising electrical appliances.
The Course includes:
• Employer’s and employee’s legal responsibilities
• Visual inspections
• Class I Tests
• Class II Tests
• Flash testing
• Hazards of incorrect testing
• Electronic tester operating techniques
• Recording results
• Labelling of equipment
Candidates will receive practical assessment and receive a course handout summarising the topics covered. Candidates will receive a certificate of competence.
Delegates will be issued with a Certificate of Attendance.
