September Courses Reminder (Book Now)

FIRE MARSHALL COURSE - 15 SEPTEMBER 2008
The Fire Marshall course will give you information about Warden duties/checks, help you to identify the safeguards which you should have in your workplace and provide guidance on fire precautions.

A failure to comply with the Fire Regulations with places with one or more employees at serious risk in case of fire is, in itself, a criminal offence. In any proceedings for such an offence, it is a defence for people charged to prove that they took all reasonable precautions and exercised all due diligence to avoid the commission of the offence.

Book your place(s) now to make your employee(s) aware and help reduce their risk of injury to themselves and others.

WORKING AT HEIGHT COURSE - 17 SEPTEMBER 2008
The Work at Height Regulations 2005 place duties on employers, the self-employed, employees and anyone who controls the way work at height is undertaken, for example a principal contractor, a client, a managing agent, or contractors, etc.

For employees who regularly carry out work at height, it is necessary for them to attend a formal training course on safe working procedures when at height, rather than just on-the-job training.

ASBESTOS & DEMOLITION SAFETY AWARENESS - 25 SEPTEMBER 2008
This course is linked into the CCDO/CSCS card scheme and therefore is a mandatory requirement when making card applications.

It is also a very useful and informative course for any relatively new starters in your company to inform your employees about the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006 and asbestos containing materials.

It will also cover the responsibilities under the Health & Safety at Work Act, changes in legislation, specific demolition hazards, safe working practices and maintaining standards of safety on site.

The HSE have launched a new campaign to reiterate the dangers of asbestos and recommends that employees' Asbestos Awareness certificates are renewed annually. This campaign affects demolition operatives, construction workers, sub-contractors, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, builders, plasterers, etc., who may come into contact with asbestos materials.
