Layfayette Building north wall collapse
The Lafayette Building in Boston was completed in 1924, but was this year put up for demolition after being empty since 1997. Locals did not want the building demolished, however, as it forms a landmark for the Italian Renaissance.
Regardless of the history, the building is being demolished, and being well documented in video footage too. The video above is the best so far showing the last few seconds of the north wall where the columns have all been weakened and the structure finally gives way.
You can watch more video footage of the Lafayette Building demolition at the BuildingsofDetroit YouTube channel.
