How not to prevent rock slides with a mini excavator
"First and foremost is safety of the workers"
That's what the Commissioner of the Tennessee Dept. of Transportation said to the press while the work you see in the image above was being carried out.
Your eyes don't deceive you. That is a mini-excavator being suspended from a crane on a wooden platform. His job, to prevent rock slides on to the the road below. But what's preventing him sliding off that platform?
