Wayward staff monitoring now a reality with microchipping
The Builders' Conference chief executive Neil Edwards has some breaking news this morning about a new system of dealing with wayward staff.
Rather than having to keep a close eye on these workers, a microchip system is being made available. As Neil explains on his blog:
"The chip contains a unique code number, the worker’s name, age, and health details in the event of a site accident. It is then monitored either via GPS that tracks the movements of the worker or by installing a set of sensors around the site perimeter. These are triggered each time a microchip passes by, notifying the site manager that one of the chipped workers has left the site. It is hoped that future generations of these chips will emit a brief but intense electric shock each time the wearer enters pre-determined exclusion zones such as an unsafe area of the site, the pub or the local bookmakers."
Thanks to Demolition News for the heads-up.
