Bayley Tower demolition to continue now falcons have left
Bayley Tower in Bromford, Birmingham had its demolition delayed after it was found a family of peregrine falcons was nesting there last year.
News of the nest was kept secret so as to protect the chicks from anyone attempting to steal them. Plans to demolish the tower were delayed until the chicks were strong enough to leave, which happened last week.
To ensure they catered for if the flacon's return, nesting boxes are being installed on other nearby towers. Birmingham City Council is keen to ensure the area can continue to see falcons breed and flourish.
No timetable has been given for the tower block demolition to start, but we expect it to be pretty swift.
