Tower demolition goes wrong, takes out power lines

Yesterday a tower was brought down at the Ohio Edison Mad River Power Plant. But the 275-foot tower did not fall in the right direction. As you can see in the video below, the tower at first doesn't move, then drops down, before falling towards onlookers. You can see their reactions and it's a good job they move as the power lines are just above them.

As the tower nears the ground you see a large spark of electrcity as it hits the power lines. It is thought thousands of homes are without power in nearby Springfield.

Advanced Explosives Demolition Inc. which carried out the job is looking into exactly what happened.
