Changes to CPCS cards

Please be advised, CPCS have been making some important changes to the scheme delivery which will have a direct effect on candidates going through the Technical Test Process.

Changes focus on the following areas:

1. Theory Test timings:
The timing for the theory tests have been reduced by 15 minutes. There will be a maximum time of 1 hour to complete the Theory Test. (With the exception of categories A49 and A50 and combined theory tests for A25/A26 and A42/A43, which remain at 1 hour 15 minutes).

2. Practical Test timings:
Many practical tests timings have been reduced. The NDTG & NFDC have worked with CPCS to reduce Demolition Plant timings to ensure tests can be carried out in a more effective manner on site.

3. Selection of theory question papers:
There will be a choice of five sets of questions papers pre category. Although there is the same number of questions, the sequence or order of questions varies between each paper. This means that a candidate will not be aware of the order of questions they will attempt prior to the theory test. Question papers will be posted on the CPCS website grouped against the relevant topic area as per current papers. Altered sequence papers will not be available to candidates prior to the test taking place.
