Prairie Sentinel implosion
The video above shows the implosion of a grain elevator that stood in the town of Oyen, north of Medicine Hat near the Alberta-Saskatchewan border.
Thought to have been erected in the 1930s, these elevators are better known as Prairie Sentinels. At the height of their use there were around 6,000 across the Prairies, but as with this one, most are now being demolished to make way for new construction.
