John Woodward returns to the theatre

Regular visitors to this page will know that John Woodward occasionally gets strange requests for demolition advice including assistance with a London play.

In May 2009 John was asked to assist the Almeida Theatre with the European debut staging of "Parlour Song" by Jez Butterworth, staring:-

- Andrew Lincoln (currently playing a policeman in Coronation Street) http://www.guardian.co.uk/tv-and-radio/2011/apr/07/walking-dead-andrew-lincoln-zombie-killer

- Amanda Drew (Dr. May Wright in Eastenders in 1985) http://www.hellomagazine.com/profiles/amanda-drew/

- Toby Jones (Frost /Nixon, Harry Potter) http://www.firstshowing.net/2011/eddie-izzard-bob-hoskins-toby-jones-are-dwarves-in-snow-white/

And now history has repeated itself with John acting as demolition consultant on a new staging of the play at York Theatre Royal. John has been assisting director Katie Posner and her cast with technical advice prior to the play opening on the 30th June for a 24 night run.

The play is well staged and is a good night's entertainment so why not pop across to the theatre website at
http://www.yorktheatreroyal.co.uk/cgi/events/events.cgi?t=template&a=748 and book tickets.

John's help has been acknowledged by the theatre with a credit in the show programme and our original post can be seen at
