WRAP launching waste to landfill action plan on June 22nd

On the 22nd June an event is taking place called "Strategic Forum for Construction: Launch of the Waste to Landfill Action Plan."

The event will cover the action plan being put in place to manage and cut down on the amount of waste making it as far as landfill. It looks at the entire construction supply chain with the desired result being a major reduction in landfill waste by greatly improving efficiency at all stages of the process.

The goal set by industry is quite stringent. In 2008 we dumped 12.55 million tonnes of waste in landfill. By next year, the goal is to halve that amount.

The event is being held at the Building Centre, 26 Store Street, London. Registration is open at 3pm on the day with the event running from 3:30pm to 7pm. Drinks will be provided at 6pm.
