Demolition contractors will be busy after the riots

There is set to be increased demand for demolition contractors in the coming days and weeks, but for all the wrong reasons.

You can't miss coverage on the news at the moment of the riots occurring in London and spreading to other cities around the country. Buildings are being broken into, looted, and in some extreme cases set on fire.

Why is this happening? It's unclear what has triggered the violence, but it has gotten worse and spread over the past few days. If it continues the Army will be called in, but we hope that it doesn't get to that stage.

Demolition work is already underway in some areas, with Tottenham having buildings pulled down that were fire ravaged. Just in the Haringey area it is estimated £10 million of damage has been caused.
