IOSH 2012 announced for March 6-7 next year

Next year's IOSH Conference will be held across March 6-7th in Manchester with the theme being Health and safety: Changing perceptions.

During the conference there will be 30 sessions, 50 speakers, and 5 key tracks including:
  • perception versus reality in relation to health and safety
  • strengthening practitioners’ understanding of legislation and enforcement issues
  • working smarter to keep health and safety on track
  • shaping safety culture and behaviour
  • improving workforce health and wellbeing
  • investigating work-related accidents effectively
The speakers making presentations during the two days include:
  • Professor Ragnar Löfstedt, Director, King’s Centre for Risk Management, Department of Geography, King’s College London and Chair, The Löfstedt Review
  • Geoffrey Podger, Chief Executive, Health and Safety Executive
  • Graham Dalton, Chief Executive, Highways Agency
  • Hugh Robertson, Senior Policy Officer for Health and Safety, TUC
  • Mike Wagland, Global Head of Health & Safety, Credit Suisse Securities (Europe) Ltd
  • Richard Perry, Head of Safety Policy and Compliance, BBC
IOSH is also promising some new additions to the conference such as a live and interactive prosecution under the Health and Safety at Work Act, examining a work-related accident investigation, and an experts panel discussing recent events in the news.
