If scaffolding is carried out without the proper safety precautions in place, you are not only putting your workers and the general public in danger, you are also risking getting caught and the consequences of that.
Stretford Scaffolding Ltd. took just such a risk, but didn't count on an HSE inspector passing by with a camera at the ready. As you can clearly see, there was no safety equipment in use as the two men dismantled the scaffolding located on a row of terraced shops on Ripponden Road in Oldham. The scaffolding had previously been put in place for a roofing project.
Trafford Magistrates’ Court decided upon a 12-month conditional discharge for Stretford Scaffolding Ltd. along with a £1,849 fine due to pleading guilty to breaching the Work at Height Regulations 2005.
