A house and stable on Mount Row in Mayfair, London, is being called Britain's most expensive demolition project. That's because the property is up for sale for £35 million, but the new owner will be almost guaranteed to demolish the house and stable as soon as possible.
The reason they'd destroy a property just acquired is the fact there is planning permission in place to build a new 16,000 square foot mansion in its place. Such a building would be larger, modern, and is expected to take the value of the property up to £65 million. It's also fair to say if you can afford the asking price you'll also be able to afford the demolition and build costs.
