Drone captures Park Avenue Hotel Implosion up close

Who doesn't like to watch a building implode? The problem is, getting the best view of that implosion.

If you turn up on the day you are forced to keep your distance for obvious safety reasons. Then there's the option of cameras setup to record the event from lots of different angles. They are great, but also static so they don't give you a perfect feel for what has happened. Therefore the best footage is always from helicopters, however, they are very expensive and still have to put safety first meaning they don't get as close as the viewer would like.

It's 2015 though, which means we have access to cheap, cutting-edge technology. And for building implosions that means drones!

Below is a video of the Park Avenue Hotel in Detroit implosion, which occurred on July 11th. The camera is attached to an unmanned, remote control drone, meaning it can fly in very close with the worst that could happen being the drone gets taken out. Thankfully it doesn't, because the video that was captured is great.
