C&D customer Worsley Plant shortlisted for CIWM Awards

We are very happy to announce that one of our customers, Worsley Plant, has been shortlisted for CIWM’s Sustainability & Resource Awards 2015.

CIWM is the leading professional body for the waste management sector representing over 6000 individuals in the UK and overseas. Established in 1898, CIWM is a non profit-making organisation, dedicated to the promotion of professional competence amongst waste managers. CIWM seeks to raise standards for those working in and with the sector by producing best practice guidance, developing educational and training initiatives, and providing information on key waste-related issues.

Here's the press release Worsley released about being shortlisted:

The shortlist has just been announced for the Sustainability & Resource Awards, organised by CIWM (Chartered Institution of Wastes Management) on behalf of the industry. Worsley Plant are delighted that the newest innovation in their product range – the REMU Crossover Bucket (XO for short) is up for the M6 Vehicle Hire Best Innovation in Vehicle, Equipment, Plant and Facilities Award.

The Awards recognise and reward innovation, achievement and best practice in the sustainable management of waste and resources, both within the waste sector and across a range of client sectors including construction and facilities management.

The REMU bucket is a totally new concept in the attachment sector, offering customers the most versatile attachment for their construction machinery. Put simply it is a bucket frame, which can be connected to several work modules, enabling fast changes for different jobs. Basically you are changing the module instead of the bucket. Changeover takes just 10 minutes and on-site recycling is a reality.

Steve Lee, Chief Executive, CIWM says, “We’ve had the best ever response to our awards this year. It may be that necessity really is the mother of invention as all types of businesses look for better resources management to support the bottom line or business continuity and to protect people and the environment. There is a great spirit of innovation in resource management and it deserves to be recognised. I wish good luck to all of this year’s entrants and want even more next year!”.

Juliet Perrett, Worsley Plant’s Marketing and PR Manager adds: “We are delighted to be shortlisted for a prestigious CIWM Award. It is well-deserved recognition for this innovative and market leading piece of equipment from our supplier REMU”.

All the winners will be announced at the awards lunch on Thursday 5 November at the Marriott London Grosvenor Square by Countdown host Nick Hewer.
