Football Pontoon kicking off to raise money for two charities

We'd like to share with you the details of a great fundraising game being run by Graham Large which we hope our readers will be eager to get involved with, especially considering the prizes on offer as well as it being a good cause.

We'll leave it to Graham to explain the details below:

It's that time of year again, the football pontoon is back! And this year it is bigger and better!

As many of you will know, my good friend Neil Taylor is running the New York Marathon next month for two fantastic charities.

The first of which is Birmingham Children's Hospital, where Neil's eight-year-old daughter Kiahna has undergone five major heart operations. The second is Breast Cancer Now in memory of my friend Lucy Smith, wife of our close friend Jason Guy, who sadly passed away earlier this year, aged just 33, following her long battle with breast cancer.

To help Neil's fundraising efforts, I'm organising a game of Football Pontoon. The rules of which are as follows:
  • Each person puts £10 in the pot and they are randomly assigned one of the 92 teams in the Football League. Then, once all 92 teams have been sold, the competition will begin.
  • The idea is for your nominated team to accumulate exactly 21 goals by the end of any particular sequence of league games. Only league goals will count towards your total.
  • If more than one team reaches 21 goals on the same day, the team that scored their 21st goal earliest in their game will be awarded 1st prize.
  • Whether there is a full fixture card or not, the teams who play league games will still have their goals added to their total; this is simply the luck of the draw. In the event of a game being postponed no score will be added to either team.
  • Goals are tallied up at the end of each match and the totals adjusted accordingly. If by the end of any particular game, your team's goals total exceeds 21, then you will "go bust" and have to start again from zero.
  • You are not restricted to one number, so you are welcome to increase your chance of winning by buying a second team!
We have three fantastic prizes on offer for the top three placed teams in the pontoon.

FIRST PRIZE - A pair of tickets in the International Suite for a future Wolves home game, courtesy of John Woodward from C&D Consultancy.

SECOND PRIZE - A pair of tickets in the First4Staff executive box for a future Wolves home game, courtesy of Jason Guy from First4Staff.

THIRD PRIZE - A signed montage of Wolves legends Steve Bull and John Richards.

So, if you are interested in purchasing a team and helping us raise vital funds for these charities, please drop me a line at grahamlargeuk@gmail.com.

Thank you for your support.
