Strictly Demolition

A Big Thanks to C&D!

Last year C&D took on an undergraduate student in Matthew Bardgett. From January 2014 Matthew had been working part time in the Liverpool and London offices before becoming full time in July 2015.

Not many people may know, but Matthew is a Ballroom and Latin American dancer. (How he came into Demolition I will never know) Matthew has had a ‘glittering’ career in which he has won:

Juvenile Career
  • 2006 Juvenile Northern and National Champion (Team)
  • 2007 Juvenile Northern Champion
Junior Career
  • 2010 Junior Northern champion 2nd Nationally (individual)
  • Northern and National Champion (team)
U21’s Career
  • 2011 Adult Northern Champion and 3rd Nationally (Individual Ballroom)
  • Northern Team Champion
  • Qualified to dance at Blackpool Champions of Tomorrow made the semi-final in both ballroom and Latin American missing both finals by one mark coming 7th
  • 2012 1st in the North of England Latin and 2nd Nationally (Individual Latin)
Adult Career
  • 2013 4th Northern England Latin
  • 2013 Asked to appear on Strictly Come Dancing Stars tour Natalie Lowe and Mark Foster in the North West as a special guest
  • 2014 Regular Finalist in both Ballroom and Latin American
  • 2015 Northern Team Winners and Runners up in the UK
  • Third in Latin and Ballroom Northern England (Individual)
  • Third in Ballroom and made the Semi-final of Latin American event
C&D sponsored Matthew and his team throughout the British Supadance National Finals following his recent Northern success back in September.

Matthew commented:

I would like to say a big thank you to John Woodward at C&D for sponsoring myself individually and my team. I achieved a great result this year by making the finals in Ballroom and Semi-Finals in Latin which was a high standard event. Your sponsorship was invaluable to myself and Merralls Dance Academy.
