Results of the Second C&D Consultancy Fishing Day

The second C&D Consultancy Fishing Day was held at Furnace Mill, Bewdley on Friday, 4th August, and I have only today got round to writing the report as I have been so busy.

The day was attended by 10 anglers from the world of demolition with representatives from Brown & Mason, Armac, and C&D, and guest accountant David Bytheway.

The day started with a full English breakfast cooked on site by Jane Brown before Ed Brown supervised the draw for pegs on Mucky Meadow. The weather was really kind to us (so kind that I burnt my bald head) and the lake fished well. After the weigh in, we all tucked into chilli with chips and rice whilst prizes and trophies were handed out.

Last year at Furnace Mill, Neville Pantin of Brown & Mason took the first prize, but this time the winner was Craig Wilkinson of C&D.

Apology regarding recent audits iAuditor issue

Dear All,

C&D Consultancy have suffered software issues with the iAuditor system, during a recent update the scoring configuration has been altered. This does not become evident until the system has produced and sent the audit.

Until this ongoing issue can be resolved we will be withdrawing the App from use and returning to a paper audit. Hopefully we should have it completed and working properly again in the next couple of weeks.

We apologise for this issue and thank you all for your continued business.

Award winning Connell Brothers

It is always nice when a C&D customer makes the news but it particularly nice when they make the news for winning awards as in the case of Connell Brothers who have won awards for their work in Rochdale.

Craig Wilkinson has been the C&D auditor on this site and he has commented on the excellent standard of work during his fortnightly visits so it is nice to see that other bodies appreciate the work done by Connell.

John heads to Finland to get some Rammer hammer training

John, Roland and Craig of C&D and Duncan Rudall (IDE Vice President) of DCS Training are all off to Finland this week to see Rammer. When they return they will be qualified as World Wide trainers for Rammer on their hammer products.

John will remain available over email and on Twitter for the whole week.

C&D Consultancy continue to be featured in Demolition magazine

When Mark Anthony Publications launched their new magazine "Demolition" earlier this year we were pleased to be featured in the first edition and that pleasure is now repeated with C&D featuring on pages 40 & 41 of the current edition in the "Breaking Free" article introducing our new breaker training course in conjunction with Rammer.

The new course, fully featured on our sister site www.demolitiontraining.com, is an industry first and follows extensive discussion with Alan Matchett at Rammer to provide not only a bespoke training course written around the Rammer operating manual, but an agreement to provide trainers to deliver the course anywhere in the world that Rammer hammers are in use.

The new course will be available from 1st April 2013, initially with one trainer whilst John Woodward, Duncan Rudall, Roland O'Connor and Craig Wilkinson complete the extensive inductions into "the Rammer way" in Finland from 20th to 23rd May.

C&D Consultancy are appointed by Rammer to carry out hydraulic breaker training globally

C&D are absolutely delighted to announce that, following an extremely long and complicated tender process, they have been appointed as the global training partner for Rammer to deliver hydraulic breaker training.

C&D will deliver a bespoke training course as and when required by Rammer customers throughout the World from 1st March 2013 with the first courses already booked, including a four day period in Finland in May.

Connell Brothers renew training orders with C&D

Connell Brothers in Manchester have renewed the training agreement with C&D, which will see us deliver manual handling workshops and abrasive wheel training to all sites over the next 6 weeks.

Connell have decided that it is cost effective to carry out training of operatives at site on the same day as C&D carry out site visits thus reducing the time the guys are away from the workplace, reducing fuel costs in travelling to a dedicated training venue, and making the training relative to the real working environment. The training will be delivered by John Woodward and Craig Wilkinson.

IDE Fishing Day 2012 report

On Wednesday 3rd October nine anglers set off at the crack of dawn to drive to Furnace Mill Fishery at Bewdley to take part in the IDE Fishing Day. It was pleasing to see anglers travel from leafy Surrey, Chesterfield, and Redcar to attend the event.

The day started in true demolition style with a full English breakfast served by Jane Brown to all before Ed Brown conducted the important draw for pegs on Furnace Lake. Following the draw the anglers set off to their chosen peg to set up rods ready for the whistle.

The weather on the day was a little mixed with sunshine early in the day with occasional heavy showers and wind but that did nothing to dampen spirits of the anglers.


After 5.5 hours of watching floats intently it was time for the weigh in and it quickly became apparent that some anglers had done better than others and one angler in particular had managed to find the bigger fish in the lake!

The results were as follows:-

1. Neville Pantin 47lbs 6oz (Neville also had the biggest fish at 9.00lbs)
2. Mark Anthony Snr 29lbs 0oz
3. Craig Wilkinson 22lbs 11oz
4. Iain Kirk 14lbs 12oz
5. John Woodward 11lbs 5oz
6. Mike Wilkinson 10lbs 4oz
7. Ron Parkin 7lbs 11oz

Following the weigh in all anglers returned to the club house to a chilli con carne and salad meal whilst prizes were presented to all anglers.

Neville Pantin was presented with the Demolition News Tight Lines Trophy before he chose his prizes for winning catch and biggest fish from the prizes of rods, reels and fishing luggage.


Other prizes went to the 2nd and 3rd placed anglers, whilst those who finished “out of the medal” places received fishing clothing or ECY Haulmark baseball caps.
