Kocurek heading to North America

C&D customer Kokurek are delighted to announce that a deal has been struck with Company Wrench to allow Kocurek booms to be available across North America and for any make of carrier.

Both companies will work together to ensure compatibility, with initial demand expected to be in the 30-70 tonne range. 100+ tonne tange booms will also be available, but there's limited need right now. Company Wrench staff will also receive full training so as to provide after-sales service in this new market.


The modular concepts being developed with Armac in the UK and Kiesel in Germany won't be available, but could be in the future. For now, just getting the Kocurek name and equipment into North America is the focus.

Kocurek unveil the Wobble-Boom

Demolition News is reporting that Kocurek has unveiled a revolutionary new boom with "unprecedented levels of vibration dampening that in turn leads to greater levels of operator comfort."

The name of this innovative new boom: The Wobble-Boom.

Kocurek has been working hard to figure out this new low-vibration boom, and in the process developed a new steel/latex alloy.

Brian Carroll, general manager at Kocurek, commented:

"Our traditional steel boom machines have always been well-received by owners and operators but we have always been aware of the need to reduce the levels of vibration transmitted back to the machine’s operator via the high reach boom. Our research and development team have been working for a number of years on a variety of potential solutions including different mounting systems and in-boom shock absorbers. However, when we were introduced to the Looflipra rubberised steel, we knew we’d found the answer we’d been looking for."

We can't wait to see it in action!

Is this the UK's largest demolition machine?

UPDATE: As Mark points out in the comments and in his post on Demolition News. This clearly isn't the biggest, so maybe the suggestion was this is the biggest Komatsu available.

The machine you see in the image above is a Komatsu PC800-8LC. It was built especially for Lee Group by Kocurek and cost a staggering £1 million.

As the Building.co.uk website states:

"It features a 45m boom onto which grapples, shearing devices, claws and buckets can be fitted. It has an extended undercarriage and a track base which widens hydraulically for extra stability."
