In order to operate specialist demolition machinery you need to develop the skills and do the training. But there isn't much in the way of hands-on experience kids can get during their school years for this kind of work.
However, one company in Japan is now offering a way for kids to get such hands-on experience with operating machinery by creating a petrol-powered exoskeleton.
I don't know about for kids, but I think every adult would want one of these to walk around in. Here's a video of it in action:
It still needs some work, and a few modifications like a more powerful grab claw and safety cabin, but I think having a few of these on site would help with a clean-up operation. They are also pretty good at dealing with aliens:
