This machine destroys just about everything

The video footage above looks quite old, but it has only just appeared on YouTube. It shows a mini-crusher that comes in several different sizes dependent on what you need to crush. But regardless of the size, it's very powerful.

The guy putting stuff in (notably without any safety gear on) manages to push through shoes, pieces of wood, cans of paint, food, bottles of water, an army blanket, and even a full pallet. All are dealt with in short order and compacted into recyclable materials.

We see much larger machines used for crushing brick and other work site materials, but I've never seen one on such a small scale before. Having one of these at home would make it much easier to fit more in those green recycling bins.
