Controlled Demolition Inc. set new world record



Controlled Demolition Inc. have set a new world record this month by using explosives to take down the tallest manmade structure ever to be felled in such a way.

CDI were acting as the main demolition contractor for the Green Beret Foundation of San Antonio in Texas. The steel structure in question was the WECT (Raycom) Television Tower. The implosion occurred on Thursday, September 20th.

Pallas Hotel implosion video



On July 22nd Controlled Demolition Inc. carried out the implosion you see above of the Pallas Hotel in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The building was an 18-storey steel structure covering 500,000+ square feet. CDI were the subcontractors on the job along with the Loizeaux Group of Companies.

National Geographic Blowdown series preview video



If you are lucky enough to have the National Geographic Channel at home, then this Blowdown series previewed above and below is one to watch.

There are six episodes in the series covering the explosive demolition of a rocket tower, nuclear explosion, Vegas casino, Miami job, spyship, and super stadium. All filmed in beautiful HD.

The work is carried out by Controlled Demolition Inc. and the series was created with the help of Parallax Film Productions. There's a preview of each episode on the Parallax website and we've included one below for you to watch.
