Free Course: Safe use of Excavator Quick Hitch Devices

The NDTG has teamed up with Caterpillar (UK) to offer free courses covering Safe use of Excavator Quick Hitch Devices.

The course is aimed at anyone involved in the safe Use of Quick Hitches on a demolition site and will give delegates an understanding of the various classifications of Quick Hitch devices, identify the risks associated with quick hitch devices, and understand how to use quick hitch devices safely in the workplace.

The subjects covered include:

• Health & Safety Legislation (L.O.L.E.R / P.U.W.E.R & CDM)
• Identify the risks associated with quick hitch devices
• Describe the operators legal duties with respect to the use of quick hitches
• Describe and apply safe working practices for the use of quick hitches
• Know when and how to conduct visual inspections of the quick hitch equipment
• Maintenance of quick hitch equipment
• Realize the importance of following the manufacturers specification for use
