World Demolition Summit in Miami now open for registration

Registration is now open for the eighth World Demolition Summit, which takes place this year in Miami, Florida on the 14th October - its first time in the USA. The Summit, always previously held in Europe, is established as one of the major annual international events for the demolition industry.

The event, which is organised by Demolition & Recycling International (D&Ri) magazine in cooperation with the National Demolition Association (NDA), will again feature a one-day conference followed by the World Demolition Awards dinner in the evening.

Conference speakers already confirmed include:
  • Mike Casbon (Technical Director, ERM, USA)
  • Dr Jan Kupec (Technical Director, Ground Engineering/Infrastructure, Aurecon Group, New Zealand)
  • Roberto Folchi (Mining Engineer/Geologist, Nitrex SRL - Explosives Engineering, Italy)
  • Ahmed Amir Khalil (VP, International Business Development, Applied Science International, USA)
  • Mark Lies (Partner, Seyfarth Shaw, USA)
Dr Kupec will report on his experience of earthquake affected areas and other sites in New Zealand; Ahmed Amir Khalil and Roberto Folchi will look at simulation technology on a bridge demolition in Italy; and Mike Casbon of ERM will highlight the need for attention to detail in demolition projects.

More information about the World Demolition Summit is available in the Demolition & Recycling International magazine and on the conference website at www.khl.com/wds, which will include regular updates.

Registration can be done over on the Demolition Summit website, with the cost of the conference and dinner coming in at £500.
