IDE Midlands Regional Meeting on August 15th

The IDE has organised a Midlands Regional Meeting for Tuesday, 15th August between 5pm and 7pm.

The meeting is sponsored by DSM Demolition Ltd. and takes place in The Oak Hotel, Stratford Road, Hockley heath B94 5NW. You'll find it on the A34.

At 5pm there will be refreshments and some time to network. Then there will be talks by safety consultant Steve Tamplin on Scaffolding Awareness, and Ricky Hay FRICS, the NFDC Scotland & Ireland Regional Chairman on the demolition of the St. James Quarter in Edinburgh. A video will also be available to watch showing a delayed timelapse of the Tottenham Hotspurs Ground demolition.

IDE invites you to the first Regional Meeting of 2017

The IDE has announced the first Regional Meeting of 2017 will be happening next Tuesday, January 17th.

It's a Midlands Regional set to occur at the following location:

Lakeside West,
Denstone Road,
Rocester,
Staffordshire ST14 5JP

The meeting is being sponsored by AR Demolition Ltd and starts at 5pm. It's free, counts for 3 hours CPD, and is open to Non-IDE members. There will be a number of speakers attending, and if you arrive early (3pm), JCB will be happy to take you on a mini tour of their factory, which should last 30 minutes.

Dont' miss an opportunity! IDE Regional Meeting

On Thursday, October 8th the IDE Midlands Regional Meeting is being held in Hockley Heath.

The event is sponsored by DSM Demolition and will include talks from Stuart Butler of Molsen Group and Martin Smith from Robinson & Birdsell on "The unseen side to explosive demolition. The cenue is The Oak Hotel, Stratford Road, Hockley Heath B94 5NW.

Next IDE Midlands Regional Meeting confirmed for October 8th

The IDE has confirmed that the next Midlands Regional Meeting will be held on Thursday, 8th October.

Many attendees at C&D Consultancy training courses have seen a short film, Doreen's Story, about how difficult life can be...



Well now "Our Doreen" is on the big screen with previews all round the Midlands soon.

Tickets are now on sale for the Gala Previews of Doreen The Movie which is being screened at 7 independent venues around the Midlands from October – Wolverhampton, Bridgnorth, Lichfield, Broseley, Stafford, Sutton Coldfield, and Bromsgrove.

Come along and meet the cast, hear the speeches, grab a souvenir signed programme, and be one of the first to watch this unique Black Country indie comedy in a great atmosphere.

Be quick though – spaces are limited, one venue is already sold out and others are running low.

IDE Midlands Regional Meeting was a great success

The IDE has made a point of highlighting how well the last IDE Midlands Regional Meeting went on March 26th. Organised by Adrian McLean, with our very own John Woodward in attendance, the meeting saw 35 attendees travelling to Casey Joe's Solihull from Leicester, Nottingham, Rotherham, Chesterfield, Wolverhampton and Birmingham.

Presentations were given by Volvo UK talking about their new high reach machine, and Spillard Safety Systems who we covered a couple of weeks ago when talking about vehicle blind spots. Afterwards there was curry and a few beers.

If you missed this Midlands meeting, or would like to attend one in the future, then don't worry, there will be many more and the IDE intends to keep making them better and better.

APS Midlands CPD Regional Event - 14 February

The next Midlands Regional CPD event is to be held in your on the Thursday 14 February 2013 at the Birmingham Medical Institute.

The event is titled “CDM-C Competence, Capability and Associated Complexity” and will consist of a presentation by John Banks, current Past President of the Association for Project Safety.

Great turnout for IDE Midlands Region Meeting

30 members of the Midlands Region of the IDE gathered together again on Wednesday 15 August at Casey Joe's, Solihull after work to hear a number of demolition related presentations and enjopy a post meeting curry and beer.

The event, organised once again by Adrian McLean MIDE and Noel McLean AMIDE of Armac Group, saw presentations from:-

• Total Training Limited who specialise in CPCS training and have a test centre in Solihull. Details of their training can be found at www.total-training.uk.com
• Duncan Rudall (IDE Events Director) who set out the changes to the CCDO High Reach card that will replace A65.
• Noel McLean who showed the new Armac Group timelapse film of bridge demolition on the M50.
• John Woodward who premiered the new Safedem Limited film of their recent Red Road blowdown.

The next Midlands Regional Meeting will be in December at a date and venue to be agreed.
